Sling Media Inc. is developing a version of SlingPlayer Mobile for iPhone. This version is specially being developed for the iTunes store at this year’s MacWorld. Sling Media will also deliver Apple a version of SlingPlayer Mobile for the iPhone to get certification in Q1.
“The SlingPlayer mobile is suited for iPhone’s large touch screen display and many iPhone users are eagerly waiting for the launch of the application,” said Blake Krikorian, co-founder and CEO, Sling Media.
Here are some features of the version:
- • It will give entire home TV experience as it includes local channel, local sports team, pay per view and video on demand features.
- • Users can also control home digital video recorder to watch recorded shows, fast forward live TV or even do new recordings even when they are not at home.
Sling Media is also going to unveil a prototype of the new SlingPlayer for Mac HD, which will allow users to stream the HD content on their Mac desktop or laptop. This is a web based version of the SlingPlayer software and will be accessible from Sling.com.
The SlingPlayer mobile for iPhone will be compatible with both iPhone and iPod touch. The company is yet to determine the price of the version.
