One of the hottest tip and feature information buzzing around in Users circle currently is the built in Screen Capture Utility of the new iPhone 3G. With the ascent of the new iPhone 2.0 Software Firmware, taking a screen shot has never been that handy and easy.
The iPhone software in all its previous incarnations always had screen shot capabilities with a built-in method. However, the function was applicable only after enabling photo shots via a preference hack only. The method was to put the tweak in place, hold the Home button while toggling the Ring or Silent switch to make iPhone’s screen flash and then take a shot. Now with the iPhone 2.0 software, screenshots are now enabled by default.
The process turns out to be amazingly simple and easy. To take a screenshot, all you got to do is hold the Home button down, then tap the power button ( press the Sleep/Wake button) on the top of the phone. The screen will then flash white, and Voila! the screenshot has been taken.
The image or a grab of the current screen will be placed and automatically get saved to your Camera Roll’s images. Then you can view the freshly taken photo in your image library and it can now be easily imported using iPhoto or Windows Explorer.
This works well, and it’s quite a relief to have a “dummies-guidebook” solution for budding, lazy and novice photographers like me. It’s certainly going to be less difficult than trying to light the phone correctly and avoid reflections and all, while taking pictures with a digital camera.
A whole lot of users who had installed the iPhone firmware 2.0, reported that it is realtively simple and easy to take and share screenshots of your iPhone — all without downloading any additional software.
