Acer has launched a new laptop line entirely built on the Intel Montevina platform.
The Chief Marketing Officer of Acer India, Mr S. Rajendran, was quoted as saying, “Acer, as usual, has been the first to launch the full line up on Intel Montevina platform worldwide & in India across both the Pentium Dual core & Core2Dou platforms, continuing the trend of being at the forefront in supporting the latest Notebook technologies that enhance customer experience in the market, as was in the case of the Tablet PC, the Ultra portable and Centrino based Notebooks to name a few. The new range of Acer – Intel Montevina Notebooks is now available in the market for consumer to buy.”
The front runner of the new machines launched by Acer is the new Aspire 4730z. The machine is powered by the Intel Montevina Pentium dual core T3200processor (2.0 GHz / 1 MB L2 Cache / 667 MHz FSB) with Mobile Intel GL40 Express chip-set. Aspire 4730z features 2 GB of RAM and 160 GB Hard Disk Drive. It comes in the operating system versions of Vista Home Premium, Vista Home Basic and Linux. The 14.1-inch WXGA Acer Crystalbrite wide screen gives the notebook a sleek and smart look. It also features a 16ms response time and a high resolution Acer Crystal Eye web-camera. Priced at an affordable Rs 38,000, the Aspire 4730z is a wholesome deal. The notebook is also available in the OS pre-loaded variant.
Another interesting instrument is the Acer Aspire 6930. It is powered by the Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 Montevina Processor (2.0 GHz/2MB L2 Cache/800 MHz) and features a system memory of 3 GB of DDR2 667 Mhz. This is also upgradeable to 4 GB. Other attractions of the notebook are the Full HD CineCrystal LCD, the 8ms response time and the native 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. Priced at a slightly higher Rs. 51,000, the Aspire 6930 sure packs a punch with its cutting edge graphics and high functionalities.
Mid-way between the two above-mentioned instruments, is the Aspire 4930 notebook, which is priced at Rs 43,500. The notebook also uses the same T5800 (2.0 GHz / 2MB L2 Cache / 800 MHz FSB) and features a 160 GB Hard Disk Drive, a Mobile Intel GM45 Express chip-set and an Intel Wireless Wi-Fi Link network solution for optimum speed and performance.
