According to PC World, ASUS has launched the S101 Eee PC Ultimate prototype in Taiwan. The new laptop is equipped with a 1.6 GHz Atom N270 processor and is supposed to weigh less than a kilogram.
One of the most unique feature of the S101 Eee PC Ultimate is that this new laptop will be the first in the current generation of Eee PCs to be equipped with a 32 GB or 64 GB solid state drive. This new laptop features a 10.2 inch backlit LED display and boasts of a battery life of 4-5 hours. However, as of the release date of the S101 Eee PC Ultimate has not been stated yet.
At present, the 32BG edition is priced at $699 and the 64 GB for $899. This new laptop will be available in the traditional white color and will measure 2.2 inches at its thickest. For the sake of keeping the S101 Eee PC Ultimate compact, even this laptop from ASUS isn’t equipped with an optical drive.
