Google will block the Infinite SMS app, than is an iPhone application very soon. The application that used to cost Rs. 50, allowed its users to send unlimited SMSs from their devices, be it an iPod or an iPhone!
But the company stopped sales of the app recently on Monday after Google notified it that the program would be blocked, developer Inner Fence said.
“Google has claimed no grievance with Infinite SMS other than its success. Their given reason for the block isn’t abuse or wrongdoing; it’s that we brought too many users (and thus too much cost) to an experimental service,” Inner Fence said.
“Infinite SMS is a third party app that has been using Google technology to provide free SMS to users, while we were paying for the cost of the text messages,” a Google spokesman said via e-mail.
Google’s free SMS feature isn’t entirely gone. They’ve only blocked non-Google apps like Infinite SMS. Fence further added.
