Apple has come up with a developer version of its famous iTunes Match service – iTunes Match Developer Beta.
Currently available to developers in the United States, this latest Apple offering is a great gift for music enthusiasts who prefer to have their own “music library” to store each and every tune they fall in love with. An user who will subscribe to iTunes Match service for 12 months will have access to iTunes Match Developer Beta. Notably, apart from enjoying the service for his subscription period of 12 months, he will enjoy it absolutely free of cost for an additional period of 3 months.
So how can one go for subscription? He just has to download the latest versions of iOS 5 beta 7 and iTunes 10.5 beta 6.1 with iTunes Match. In the next step he has to visit the store menu, and click on “Turn on iTunes Match”.
It is to be noted that an user availing this service must maintain a local backup of his iTunes library. Why is it so crucial? This is because during the beta Apple will conduct periodical resetting of the library. Another point to remember is that some iTunes features and optimizations will be unavailable during the beta.
Innovative and novel, this new Apple offering is sure to be a great hit with music lovers.
