The Annual CES 2012, which kicks off today in Las Vegas, will mark the launch of Lenovo IdeaPad Y series, Lenovo IdeaPad Z series and Lenovo G series notebooks, alongside previously anticipated U and S series of notebooks.
The IdeaPad Y480 and Y580 have been designed to ply with entertainment needs of users, whereas IdeaPad Z380, Z480 and Z580 gives you good return for your money. Through G480, G580 and G780 notebooks, Lenovo adds more to its already established range of notebooks.
Lenovo IdeaPad Y Series
Lenovo IdeaPad Y series will be released in two models with both of them sharing most of the specifications, apart from screen dimensions, weight and graphics with Y580 getting better of Y480 on all occasions. Both are processed on Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge, have 1MP camera, NVIDIA Graphic cards mounted on them and JBL branded speakers. Memory options for both include 8GB DDR3 SDRAM, 1TB HD and mSATA SSD options, with port connectivity options being 2 USB 2.0 Port, 2 USB 3.0 Port, Ethernet, HDMI, etc. Differences, though, are noticeable once display screen lights up. Y480 comes with a 14-inch display screen offering resolution of 1366×768 while Y580 has a 15-inch offering better display resolution of 1920×1080. Y580 also boasts of slightly powerful NVIDIA Graphics card GTX 660M to go with Y480’s GTX 650M. Weight-wise Y480 clocks in at 2.2 kgs and Y580 weighs 2.7 kgs altogether. Since IdeaPad Y series has been designed to cater entertainment needs of the user, we have OneKey Theatre 2 that helps users to customise a/v settings in a single touch. IdeaPad Y580 also comes with a night view camera and backlit keyboard.
Lenovo IdeaPad Z series
This series consists of stylishly designed Z380, Z480 and Z580 IdeaPads. All of them are equipped with NVIDIA GeForce GT640M graphic card with DirectX 11. Z380, Z480 and Z580 will be available in 13.3-, 14- and 15.6-inch display screen respectively. To go with OneKey Theatre 2, users now can recover or backup information via OneKey Rescue System. Other features included are 1MP Camera capable of video recording at 720p, Blue Ray Disc Drive, Intel’s Wireless Display (WIDI) technology, HD graphics support and HDMI connector among others. Connectivity option provided with Z series are 2 USB 2.0 Port, 2 USB 3.0 Port, 1 Ethernet, 1 HDMI and one each of 3.5mm headphone and microphone. Z series IdeaPads incorporates backlit LED HD display screen offering resolution of 1366×768. IdeaPad Z380, Z480 and Z580 are mid-priced laptops that will be made available in six candy colours these being: Amber Orange, Apple Green, Cherry Red, Coral Blue, Graphite Grey, and Peony Pink.
Lenovo G Series Notebooks
G series of notebook consists of three budget laptops called G480, G580 and G780, carrying 14-, 15- and 17-inch HD screens respectively. They arrive in CES 2012 loaded with NVIDIA graphics card and Blue-ray Disc drive. These notebooks are extremely affordable and offer better functionality than the basic models. Also included are features like OneKey Rescue System, to assist user in simple data backup and recovery while Veriface, a facial recognition software is another value added feature of Lenovo G series notebooks.
All of these products are sure to be showcased in the ongoing CES 2012. Lenovo have confirmed that IdeaPad Y series and Z series will be made available to public in April. Lenovo IdeaPad Y series will be tagged at USD $899 (approx. INR 47,290) while Lenovo IdeaPad Z Series will be purchasable for USD $599 (approx. INR 31,530). Lenovo G series Notebook is bound to hit the market in June, clocking in at USD $399 (approx. INR 20,990).
