Symantec has announced that public beta of Norton 360 version 3.0 will now be available to users. Launched in 2007, Norton 360 is the company’s “set it and forget it” security suite, specially meant for users who don’t want to think about internet security again and again.
The new launched Norton 360 version 3.0 included Norton safe web, which is the security giant’s website-rating service and is similar to McAfee Site Advisor. According to Symantec, Norton Safe Web consists of more than 100,000 registered beta testers and also provides site rating information for approx 13 million search results every day. The new version also has enhancements to tune up and back up, security and performance improvements that were launched last year along with Norton Internet Security 2009.
Rowan Trollope of Symantec said, “The goal behind launching the version of Norton 360 is to deliver a comprehensive protection to users with zero impact on performance. This will help consumers in becoming productive online, keeping back up of their valuable data and getting their computers flawlessly run at peak performance. With the new v3.0, we have extended the protection to make shopping and other everyday online activities safer”.
The new version of Norton 360 is available for free public download. The Norton internet security 2009 users can also download the plug-in version of the Norton safe beta.
