Songza, the famous internet radio service has come up with a musical app for iPad users. The app provides with a free music streaming experience for all kind music listeners. It has come with a feature in which the users can save playlist not just by classification of different genres, but according to their mood. It targets at providing the people with the perfect playlist for any particular moment or situation.
The internet radio company is located in Long Island City, New York. Elias Roman, co-founder of the company was recently quoted as saying, ”We’re trying to make the world’s greatest collection of amazing playlists and long-form listening experiences .”
The users are provided with ample of options to choose songs from and have curated playlists depending upon the numerous activities practised by them. Songza has introduced ‘Concierge Feature’ in its new application. This feature was introduced by the company three months back where it was informed that Concierge feature refers to be aware of one’s music preferences weather the user is on a PC or a mobile device, and factors in any time of the day. From there the user will be provided with a list of six activities that he/she may be involved in at that time, enabling the user to filter from different genre and mood and choose a playlist.
The app that targets to please various type of users includes over 100,000 playlists, consisting of 18 million songs. Since the introduction of the Concierge feature in the app, Songza’s user base rises 50 percent monthly and it seems that the app is giving tough competition to other musical streams like Pandora, Spotify and iHeartRadio and Roman.
BTIG Research analyst, Richard Greenfield, last week commented, “providers of institutional brokerage and fund services, warned that investors in Internet music company Pandora Media Inc should be wary in the face of Songza’s rapid growth.“
