EA sports has commented that it is working on a new version of the immensely popular car race game Need for Speed. The new version entitled, “Need for Speed Undercover” will also star internationally famed movie star Maggie Q who will act as a lead character in all the live action sequences or the cut scenes of the game.
Since, the immense success garnered by Maggie Q with blockbuster movies such as Mission Impossible III, Live Free and Die Hard 4, she will now play the role of a Federal Agent “Chase Linh” who has the sole job of recruiting players and sending them deep undercover.
According to Bill Harrison, (NFS Undercover Executive Producer), “Need for Speed Undercover features a deep and engaging story of spectacular Hollywood-style live-action that will transport players into the fictional world of the Tri-City Bay Area . Working with talent the calibre of Maggie Q allows us to deliver an unparalleled level of storytelling that will keep players engaged in between 180-mile-an-hour races.”
A highly enthusiastic Maggie Q stated, “I’ve always been a fan of racing games and working on Need for Speed Undercover was an amazing experience. I was so impressed by the scope and quality of the overall production that goes into a videogame these days. It was like any other day on a Hollywood set; I felt right at home. The Black Box team is doing tremendous work here and I can’t wait to see the final game.”
This highly anticipated NFS version is slated to hit North America on November 18th 2008 and Europe on November 21st, 2008. This game would be available on multiple platforms such as Xbox 360 and PS 3, Nintendo DS, Wii, PS2, PSP, PC and the mobile plaforms.
