Toshiba’s Digital Products Division has announced the launch of a new laptop in its Portégé R500 series. The notebook is equipped with the largest solid state drive capacity of 128GB, and the Company sources state that “ this move makes its 2.4 pound(2) Portégé R500-S5007V, the world’s lightest laptop with a 128GB SSD and DVD SuperMulti drive and one of the world’s thinnest with a 64 GB SSD and DVD SuperMulti drive.”
The recently launched model is a 1.72 pound notebook and a 3 cell battery, which makes it one of the lightest Notebook. It also features a 7mm DVD SuperMulti drive which reduces the weight and slimness of the laptop. Furthermore, the notebook features a widescreen 12.1 inch indoor and outdoor transreflective LED backlight display and is suitable for usage in almost any lighting condition. The LED backlit display produces enhanced color saturation and superb image quality indoors. And a push of a button turns off the LED backlights to conserve battery life, while the transreflective screen automatically uses natural light outdoors. Its SSD provides ample storage space, easy handling and data management while travelling.
The Portege R500 also features the Intel Centrino Duo processor technology, which enables users to work virtually from anywhere.
