Yesterday, we had informed our readers about the Vodafone India ‘offer details’ for the all new Apple iPhone being launched on August 22nd 2008.
Hot on the heels of that announcement, TechDrunk was contacted by Airtel early this morning, regarding the Airtel ‘offer details’. As per our previous post that we had done regarding the official launch date announced by Airtel, the iPhone 3G is indeed being launched on August 22, 2008.
Airtel has set the price of the 8GB Model (Black) at Rs. 31,000 and the 16 GB Model (Black & White) at Rs. 36,000.
In addition to the 3G Device launch, Airtel is all set to open three of its flag ship stores in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore on August 22nd midnight, to mark the spectacular premiere of the Apple iPhone 3G. As per the email received by us, “Join us early on the red carpet as we camp out throughout the evening. We are expecting some long queues, so plan your day and reach the location as soon as possible. Remember, our stock is limited and will be available only on first cum first basis.”

Well, with the launch by Airtel just 24 hours from now, here at TechDrunk, we are not too sure whether the Iphone 3G will receive the same reception that it did in Japan on its International launch with the price of the device soaring three times more than the original International launch price.
