AT&T has finally announced the pricing structure for the next itinerary of Apple’s iPhone series –the iPhone 3G. The Handsets will be exclusively retailed in Apple and AT&T’s stores, and they will be available 11th July onwards.
The iPhone 3G comes in both an 8GB and a16 GB format and will be available at the rate of $199 and $299 respectively.
But surprisingly, previous original iPhone users will have to pay more if they wish to upgrade – $399 for the 8GB iPhone 3G and $499 for the16GB model. The pricing structure is also accompanied with a new 2-year agreement, the term of which is applicable for first time buyers also. And a new No-Commitment version or without the 2-year Agreement, the handset prices will then be raised unto $599 for the 8GB model and $699 for the 16GB model,
It also seems like AT&T is leaning quite heavily towards the All-In Unlimited plans, but there are other options available, including the Individual, Family and Text Messaging plans.
According to sources from Engadget, the price structure can be summed up as follows:
iPhone 3G will be available for $199 (8GB) and $299 (16GB) for iPhone customers who purchased an iPhone prior to 7/11, customers activating a new line with AT&T and current AT&T customers who are eligible for an upgrade.
Existing AT&T customers who are not currently eligible for an upgrade discount can purchase iPhone 3G for $399 for the 8GB model or $499 for the 16GB model. Both options require a new two-year service agreement.
