The recently launched Camera app by Facebook for iOS users created confusion among Apple users. People got confused with Facebook’s app name, as the iPhone’s native camera app is also named ‘Camera’. For this reason, the company came with an update and changed its app name from ‘Camera’ to ‘Camera•’. The change was done for users to better distinguish it from the iOS Camera app and avoid confusion.
The app is currently out for iOS users only and can be used to edit and upload pictures on the social network. The current update changes the name of the app in the homescreen of iOS users. Though the name of the app has been added with a ‘•’, it still allows users to upload multiple photos at one go and add filters to them in the style of Instagram.
With the change in name, there have been few positive changes like the users no longer have to turn on the location settings, in order to use the app and upload photos. The update has resulted in fixing problems when one upload results in multiple Timeline stories and display photos out of order. Now, the users are provided information on how exactly location services work within the app and ensures that the application works better when location services are left switched off.
