It was only a while ago, that few reports about Nokia Symbian Series 60 SMS bug came into light. The bug named “Curse of Silence” is creating a problem with only this singular OS, UI and especially with the devices running on versions 2.6, 2.8, 3.0 and 3.1.
The only solution to the problem was a hard reset. However, instead of not downloading and using third party applications that are developed by software developers, Nokia is in the process of contacting the mobile service providers to simply block the specific type of SMS messages (as mentioned in a report). The messages will contain a code, which started all of this in first place – text messages with long email address.
No operator has still revealed this and it is possible that a firmware update could be in the development stage to control the situation.
