SiSoftware Sandra stands is an information and diagnostic utility software, which provides most of the information that you need about hardware, software and other hardware or software devices. The software works along the lines of other windows utilities, but goes beyond them and shows users more of what is actually going on. It gives user an ability to draw comparison at high and low level. The new Sandra 2009 has following modules:
Graphics Processing
It benchmarks the graphics performance of the graphics processors. These operations are used by some specialized softwares like, scientific software, video decoders/ encoders, games, which makes GPU performance important.
Graphics Bandwidth
With Sandra 2009, you can benchmark the graphics performance of the video adapters. This will show how the graphics processors handle the rendering in comparison to typical graphics processors. These operations are used by graphics softwares, image manipulation and modern operating systems.
Video Rendering
It measured the graphics performance of the video adapters and shows how the graphic processor is handling rendering in comparison to other typical graphic processors.
Video Memory
Now benchmark the bandwidth of the memory of the video adapters and the bandwidth of the bust connecting them to your computer.
Cryptographic Performance
You can see the cryptographic performance of modern processors, which support hardware cryptographic engines. It supports most common algorithms like AES for encryption/ decryption and SHA for hashing.
The SiSoftware Sandra provides same level of information to Norton SI, Quarterdeck WinProbe etc. Its Win 32 version comes in both ANSI and native Unicode formats, where as the Win64 version comes in native Unicode format.
